Gnome Friends!

Happy Gnomes bearing gifts!  

In different fairy tales and legends, gnomes have long been associated with living underground or moving easily through the earth, often with magical and protective powers to aid nature and make gardens or farms more productive, and are often naughty or mischievous.

In Norway, on Christmas eve, it is said that gnomes demand a delicious bowl of porridge, known as ‘julegrot’. If you give them their bowl of porridge, they will become your friend, however, if you don't, they will become upset and begin to play mischievous pranks. In Denmark, some still set aside porridge for the gnome at Christmas. 

In Scandinavia, gnomes are believed to be household spirits that protect their homes and families and are symbols of good luck and prosperity.  On Christmas, gnomes help deliver gifts by magically entering houses.  Here we have these delightful fused glass gnomes bearing gifts and good luck!  Each measure about 3" x 4"

I create each one by hand and fuse them in my home studio; no two are ever alike!  If you see one you like, grab it because once it is gone - it's gone!  If you see one you have your heart set on that has been spoken for, contact me and I will make another, but it will NOT be an exact replica - but I will try to get close!
